What’s your yoga story?
I found yoga in 2011 after graduating from college. At that time in my life I was in desperate need of a deeper connection to myself and my body. Yoga allowed me to learn how to slow down and flow; which was something I didn’t even know I was craving.

What’s your favorite way to slow down?
My favorite way to slow down is with breath work. I love how I can easily drop into a calmer state simply through engaging with my breath on a deeper level.

Describe your most peaceful day.
I wake up without an alarm and slowly shuffle into the kitchen for a hot cup of coffee. I settle down into a chair at my kitchen table for a moment to journal and reflect. After I get my morning thoughts onto paper I journey to my mat for a gentle, slow, and calming movement practice. After enjoying some gentle movement I get to spend the day reading, walking my dog, and laying in the sunshine. The evening ends with a warm bath and a cool shower.

I curl myself up under the covers to settle down for a long night’s rest.

Why do you love teaching Supportive Yoga formats?
Our lives are filled with so many things that activate our nervous system. We are a driven society and we have accomplished a lot because of that. But what I love about supportive yoga is that it shows us the power in being still and calm. It is a tool that all of us need to engage with ourselves on a deeper level.

What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is our ability to pay attention to the present moment. Through breath work, yoga, and meditation we can all enter a pathway toward a more mindful state.
