Restorative Yoga is always a good idea! Whether you’re looking to slow down at the start of your day, or after a long day of work — try out this gentle Restorative Yoga sequence.

This sequence is intended to open the inner hips gently, but you’ll also get some good side body length and spinal rotation. Basically, it’s everything you need to reset yourself — mind, body, soul.

What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative Yoga is a practiced that aims to totally de-excite your nervous system. Through postures that are supported with tons of props, you are invited to move into deep relaxation. As the body relaxes deeply, we eventually move into what is called the Relaxation Response.

As the nervous system moves into the Relaxation Response, we heal the symptoms that stress creates in our body. Our bodily systems (digestive, hormonal, immune, etc.) are able to move toward balance – which for many of us, is a rare occurrence.

While Restorative Yoga’s signature quality is props, they aren’t imperative for a powerful practice. The key factor to Restorative is support — and you can get that plenty of that just from the Earth beneath your feet 🙂
